Teachers are the everyday heroes that are integral to any flourishing community, and here in Memphis we have some pretty amazing heroes in our classrooms.

Many Memphis children can attest to the sense of thrill when stepping foot in the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. It's fitting that such a center for dreaming and learning is named for one of Memphis’ most beloved heroes. Hooks was a Memphis local who fought alongside giants of the Civil Rights Movement. And his legacy now lives on in the largest library in the city.
