Not all heroes wear capes, some run marathons for a cause. The runners also serve as powerful role models for children undergoing treatment who can’t run for themselves… yet. But, with the successful research happening at St. Jude, chances are that the children undergoing treatment today will live to lead thriving lives, and maybe run the race one day!

When it’s really truly Fall in Memphis, there’s hardly anything better. The mornings and evenings are cool, the days are mild and the trees lining North and East Parkways are on fire with autumn color. It’s the best time to get out and discover the city’s many great walking and running paths, to start training for your next community race or just develop some good habits that get your body out and moving.
Memphis Hero: Danny Thomas
St. Jude founder Danny Thomas said he founded the children’s cancer research hospital because “no child should die in the dawn of life.” Today his dream still lives on through the many heroes creating and receiving treatments at St. Jude.
