Dreamers Live Here

Memphis is the home of dreamers. From Ida B. Wells to Elvis Presley to Danny Thomas, Memphis has always boasted an abundance of innovators and visionaries. The “can-do” spirit of some of our most famous leaders has trickled down into our community at large, ingraining a determination and creative energy into the very fabric of the city.

Resources that Fuel Us

In many ways, Memphis is defined by its tenacity– even the slogan for the Grizzlies professional basketball team is “grit and grind.” Not only has local engagement shaped this spirit of indomitability, but the atypical variety of resources present in The 901 has made such dreams seem achievable. The following are but a few of the advantages that Memphis has to offer:

  • An embrace of reimagined urban spaces: Resourceful uses of the structures that make up the backbone of the city encourage innovation of the highest order as such endeavors seek to maximize the potential of the spaces that already exist. Urban buildings such as Crosstown Concourse and Memphis Rox foster deeper connection to the city’s roots as well as provide opportunities for community engagement.

  • A blossoming young adult population: In 2017 Time Magazine published a study that demonstrated that Memphis had the fourth highest percentage nationally of millennials moving into the city. This thriving young adult population certainly adds fuel to the existing spirit of ingenuity as those in their 20s and 30s approach the future with gusto, advancing resolutely towards their ideals.

From Possibility to Reality

Although this list hardly scratches the surface of all that Memphis has to offer its residents, some of these unique assets foster space for innovation and creativity. Living in such a dynamic city can open your eyes to the possibilities that the future might hold and embolden you to make them realities.
